Thanks for your feedback. Since we published our July 8th web article “Yard Sale Takes New Tack” and our August Newsletter article “Rave Reviews For 2009 Hottest Yard Sale“, we have continued to receive valuable feedback about the event. Here’s an update:

Based on comments received in previous years, our Hottest Yard Sale Committee tried a few new things in 2009. Most noticeable were the addition of performance stages/areas at both the north and south ends of the festival, as well as at City Hall; and the change in event times from 8am-4pm to 8am-2pm.

We have received very positive feedback about the additional performance stages/areas and will continue to enhance this feature in future years. We have also received a lot of comments about the change in event times. Some of you were happy to see the event shortened up to 2pm, and some of you suggested that it should be lengthened to 5pm or even 6pm … but the vast majority of those who voiced an opinion said that they want to see the event return to a 4pm closing.

The Committee is listening and last night voted to change the hours back to 8am – 4pm for the 2010 event. Thanks to all who took the time to write, call, or talk to us on the street.

Going forward, the Hottest Yard Sale Committee will be meeting later this year to begin planning the 2010 event. Your thoughts and opinions are important and will help shape the future direction of this downtown signature event. Keep the feedback coming.
