Entry into this contest constitutes your acceptance of these rules and regulations. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that they comply with the Official Rules and Regulations.

1. Effective Date: Rules in effect as of November 20, 2009.
2. Entry Submission Deadline: Entries will be accepted until close of business on December 24, 2009

3. Draw Date: The draw(s) will take place on December 31, 2009

4. Purchase Conditions: No purchase necessary to enter or win. Making a purchase will not increase your chances of winning.

5. Who May Enter: This contest is open to residents of Canada who are 18 years of age or older. Entrants discovered to be under the age of 18 will be disqualified. Individuals employed by or who sit on the Board of Management at the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area and members of their household are not eligible to win. Owners of participating DIA businesses are not eligible to win.

6. Entry Procedure: Beginning November 20, 2008, entry forms may be obtained and submitted at participating businesses in the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area. By participating in this contest, the entrant agrees that the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area and its sponsors will not be held liable for injuries, loss or damages that may occur directly or indirectly as a result of the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession and/or use of any prize awarded, or any contest related activity.
7. Odds of Winning: The actual odds of winning will be determined by the total number of entries received for the sweepstakes.
8. Ballot Completion: Ballots must be legible and completed in full. Partially completed or illegible ballots will be disqualified.
9. Random Drawing: There will be three (3) winners. Winners will be selected in a random drawing on the date noted above. The winner will be notified by phone and/or mail.
10. Prizes: There will be a total of three (3) prize packages awarded. The prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area makes no representation or warranties concerning the appearance, safety or performance of any prizes awarded. All federal, provincial and local income taxes, insurance, licensing, registration and title fees connected to the prize are the sole responsibility of the winners. The approximate retail value of the prizes packages is variable and depends on merchandise contributions made by local businesses and is estimated at between $500-$1000 per prize package.
11. Claiming Prizes: As a condition of winning the prizes, the contestant must correctly answer a skill-testing question. By accepting the prize, the winner consents to the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area using their name, photograph and address (city only) in any and all media (including without limitation, print, broadcast, and internet) for legitimate business purposes including advertising and promotional activities without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. Winners may be required to provide proper identification. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees that the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area and its sponsors cannot be held liable for any injury, damage, or claim resulting from the use of any prize and/or participation in this contest. Contestants are responsible for collecting their prizes from the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area office. Any unclaimed prizes will be awarded through a random drawing to be held as necessary. If we are not able to contact the winner by phone a notification will be sent by registered mail to the address listed on the ballot. If the prize is not claimed within 90 days of notification, the drawee may be disqualified and a new winner may be drawn at random from the remaining ballots.
12. Miscellaneous Conditions: The Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area may collect your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. This information is used for administering the sweepstakes and your information is kept confidential. Persons found to be tampering with or abusing any part of these sweepstakes will be disqualified.
