La Pastorale is a charming French Country Lifestyle Boutique. It opened in 2007 in what was formerly the back room of the Expedia CruiseShipCenters at the corner of 3rd Ave.E. and8th St. E. With her background in interior design, Pamela has transformed the tiny dark windowless space into a light, airy oasis, with sunlight streaming through crisp white organdy curtains. The boutique is influenced by French, Gustavian, and Belgian decor, what Pamela calls the “stone and linen look”, that ever popular and serene white on white.

Pamela has travelled to France to stock the tiny boutique with some of life’s little luxuries, from triple milled French soaps, to 100% linen bedding and pure cashmere throws. You will find antique monogrammed linens that have been skillfully transformed at small French ateliers into fluted lampshades, cushions, memory boards and weekend bags. Pamela carries La Rochere glasses from the oldest glass manufacturer in France, Napoleon flatware, and a line of drip-glazed fleur de lis tableware from Italy. A favourite is the Cote Bastide line of linens and bath products.

Made in Canada? Using natural fibres, Pamela sews and embroiders many items for the shop herself. Her husband makes their own La Pastorale line of olive oil based handmade soaps, while she enjoys designing the wraps.  She carries Canadian made beeswax candles and the Bleu Lavende line of eco-friendly culinary lavender and bath products from Quebec.
