What are the benefits of OSDIA membership?

Governed by the Ontario Municipal Act, DIAs are mandated organizations focused on activities aimed at overseeing  the improvement, beautification, maintenance, and promotion of public areas within the DIA region.  Benefits of DIA (or BIA) membership are as individual and diverse as the communities they represent.

With the wide ranging needs of a diverse downtown community, the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area continues to work towards developing programs and resources that benefit individual businesses/organizations, and the OSDIA community as a whole.  Some of these programs and resources may among other things include:

  • Downtown beautification (plants, flowers, trees, fixtures, art, etc.)
  • Downtown maintenance (cleaning, repairs, watering, weeding, etc.)
  • Downtown promotion (events, advertising, promotions, etc.)
  • Special programs (Community Benefit Card, Preferred Merchant Visa & MasterCard Program, etc.)
  • Advocacy (representing the voice of the membership to government and other organizations)
  • Networking (through OSDIA meetings and events)
  • Education (more info coming in Summer 2009)
